About Us
Wild, empowered women.
Our vision is to curate safe, empowering spaces for women to confidently step into the backcountry.
We learned quickly that these spaces are created by the women who join us, it is the alchemy of sisterhood that creates the magic and meaning on our trips.
With a foundation rooted in sisterhood and community, the branches of Heartsong are practical workshops and discussions, movement and playful exploration, and heart-led intentional spaces.
All of this is made possible because of the land we are so privileged to have access to. The essence of Heartsong Adventures is the deepest of respect for our wild lands. The canyons we wander, the deserts blanketed by snow, and the forests that embrace us— It is a blessing to walk upon these lands, a privilege we will not forget. Our hope is to hold space for women to create a relationship of respect, reciprocity, and efficacy to our most wise, and loving sister— Mother Gaia.
If this resonates, and you feel your heart begin to sing,
You might just find yourself walking along with sisters you never knew you had.
Love,
Lex and Brooke
Your Guides
Lex Doubleday
Founder, Field GuideLex brings a beautiful blend of intentionality, meaningful connection and silly story time giggles. There’s no one more knowledgeable or passionate on native plants and animals and no one better to lead an intentional group or yoga circle. She has a gift for seeing the best in everyone and a talent in pulling people out of their shells; I think because she’s never been anyone but herself and encourages everyone else to do the same. Lex can be found dancing, singing and flute playing wherever the sun shines and wildflowers grow.

Where it all began
It had been raining for a week straight and I was left hunkering down in a 2004 Nissan Vanette. The book Women Who Run With The Wolves laid on my bed and I was lazily writing the words, “Heart song, heart song, my heart is singing,”
Occasionally the clouds would lift, and I would leap up to gaze out of a foggy window. A nearby glacier and the tops of steep, jagged mountains emerged from the mist. The West Coast of New Zealand filled me with dreams..
It was then I picked up my phone to send a good friend a message, it went something like this,
“Hey Brooke, so I was thinking.. I might be coming back to SLC in the spring. What do you think about guiding again? How beautiful would it be to guide Full Moon Women’s Circles! Anyways, who knows, could be really special,”
It was all I could think about, a weekend or maybe someday even a few weeks of women gathering together. Learning the ways of fire, living by the moon and sun and beneath the stars, weaving, harvesting, laughing, dancing, swimming in rivers and lakes. Coming home to the wild.
This vision took over my body and spirit and brought me to tears nearly every time I thought of it.
It felt like Mother Earth had sung her own dream to my heart, a dream of bringing her daughters together so she could hold us all so close.
And that’s where it all began, on an island deep in the pacific, where my heart began to sing so loudly I couldn’t help but stop in my tracks and listen.
With much love,
Lex
